This summer down here in Tassie we have experienced exceptional diving conditions on the east coast with vis typically around 30m which is unheard of for this time of year.

Below is a short video of a recent dive out of Port Arthur to Black Rock a seldom dived area but spectacular location where we experienced what I estimated to be vis of 40 plus metres.

As usual amazing video James! OK, what depth were the huge fish schools, judging by the whips it was deep?

We have been getting average vis around 10 metres, but still plenty to see! vimeo.com/253009381

Glad you liked the vid AB and I enjoyed yours too, I don't know what is causing the unseasonal excellent vis at the moment water temp is high teens nearly 20 which is high for our standards, maybe it caused by nutrient poor oceanic water being pushed down here by the EAC.

Most of the fish action was in 35-45m, the deepest part of the dive was 53m on the sand. The whips in this area were restricted to a band from just below the kelp line at 35 to around 40.
