Description: This is a must do dive. At the Chinaman's hat located about half way between Portsea and Queenscliff (an old WW2 structure) the seals congregate and live there just to take up the warm sun and to while away the day.
When you arrive they come may come to the boat just to see who is on board but generally they will wait until you are in the water. When you get into the water they will come around and play with you swim by you and generally work overtime to scare the living bejesus out of you.
It may take the novice diver a couple of dives to know and understand that they mean no harm and that their attempts in swimming close to you is not to frighten you but to be able to get a better look at you.
They simply love it if you play with them and swim around and summersault in the water etc. The more active you are in the water the more active they will be.
This dive should be on all Divers Must See and Must Do Dives list!
