Location: Deep Glen Bay

Average Depth: 25mtrs
Max Depth: 40mtrs
Directions: North from Pirates Bay along the Forestier Peninsula. Deep Glen Bays most northerly point is the best place to start you need local knowledge and a sounder to find the bombie. Book with Eaglehawk Dive Centre if you don't have your own boat.
Description: Anchoring on the bombie is the safest way to dive this wall. Desend down the anchor rope and drop over the northern side of the bombie into a sandy gutter of about 30+ metres. Cross the sandy and follow the sandy edge out to 40 metres. This is where the sponge life is at it's best. Take a good torch to get the best from this deep water.
The fish life here is awesome. Hundreds of thousands of Butterfly Perch (Caesioperca lepidoptera) and schools of Real Bastard Trumpeter(Mendosoma allport) live on this wall. On leaving the sponge garden follow the wall back into the bay. On the ledges at about 25 metres you will regularly find Ziebell's Handfish (Brachionichthys sp.1) or the occasional Red Velvetfish (Gnathanacanthus goetzeei)along with many other common species.
This is a site for both video and still photography. Safety stops are usually spent on the wall or out in blue water surrounded by thousands of fish.
